What is core inflation?

Inflation without food and energy prices, which move the most from month to month. It shows where prices are heading underneath.

What is the SPI?

The Sensitive Price Indicator: a weekly measure of the prices of essential items, published by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

How is CPI inflation measured?

By tracking the prices of a fixed basket of goods and services every month. Inflation is the change in that basket's cost from a year earlier.

CPI is joined across the change of base year, so the series runs unbroken from 2017.
