FIPI and LIPI

FIPI is Foreign Investors Portfolio Investment: shares bought and sold by foreign investors. LIPI is Local Investors Portfolio Investment: the same for local investors, split into eight kinds such as individuals, mutual funds and banks.

Net buying and selling

Net is what a group bought minus what it sold. Positive means net buyers, negative means net sellers. Every share sold is bought by someone, so foreign and local flows mirror each other.

Where it comes from

NCCPL, the clearing company for the PSX, publishes the flows after every trading session, in US dollars.
